Scholarships
10,000 Beds Scholarships to treatment programs are provided through strategic partnerships with long term, vetted addiction treatment programs. We do not fund treatment costs. We can help with sober living costs.
We partner with some of the best treatment programs in the country; they generously provide scholarships through 10,000 Beds to our approved and qualified applicants.
Our online scholarship application will be available on several times each year. When applications are open, a link will be visible on our home page at 10000bedsinc.org.
Applications will remain open until we have received 50 requests for help - usually within a few days, at which time applications will be closed while we spend the next few months qualifying and placing the applications received. This is how our process works.
THE PROCESS
Our online application was created by a clinical team. The application is 40+ questions and we expect applicants to fully complete all 40 questions. Once completed and reviewed, 10,000 Beds follows up with a phone interview with the applicant to determine desire, need, and willingness of the applicant, and to clarify any information on the application that wasn't clear.
Once 10,000 Beds approves an applicant, all information is shared with one of our treatment partners. We do our best to match the needs of the applicant with the most appropriate program partner.
If the treatment program has an available scholarship bed, the process continues as follows: all information is transferred from 10,000 Beds and the treatment program then conducts its own evaluation to determine if the applicant is a good fit for their program, including a review of the completed application and notes from 10,000 Beds, followed by its own phone call to conduct a clinical/psych evaluation of the applicant.
Once approved by the treatment program, 10,000 Beds makes transportation arrangements for the scholarship recipient to allow them to admit ASAP.
If the selected program does NOT have an available scholarship bed, 10,000 Beds will reach out to another treatment partner with a similar program that matches the clients needs.
10,000 Beds partners with programs providing long-term, quality treatment, with a continuum of care, either within their own program or through relationships they have developed.
Applications MUST be completed by the applicant, not a relative or friend.
Interviews MUST be conducted with the applicant, not a relative or friend.
There is no other way to apply for a 10,000 Beds Scholarship.
After the initial application is submitted, applicants are required to check in eery Monday via email and share any changes in their circumstances. The email should be sent to MondayUpdate@10000beds.org.
We are a small, all-volunteer organization attempting to do our best to help families and individuals battling addiction. We do not accept any kickback or payment from any treatment program for a scholarship applicant to participate in their program. We fund our mission through personal donations, corporate grants, and special events.
Personally, over the years, our founder has come to refer to our scholarship recipients as "gracious and grateful" and our treatment program partners as "gracious and giving"; we are blessed to work with amazing people both needing help and giving help.
